We have added several new staff members at Jay County Jr.-Sr. High for the '24-'25 school year. Please join us in welcoming and supporting these new faces. Today we introduce Jeanie Shrack. Jeanie attended Ball State University. Her previous teaching experiences include JAG (Jobs for America's Graduates), an alternative school program, 8th-grade mathematics, and life skills. Jeanie and her husband live on a small hobby farm that is home to cows, goats, cats, and two dogs. She is also the proud mother of ten children and twenty-five grandchildren! Jeanie describes her interests as "nurturing our youth, crafting including quilting, and seeking peaceful moments." Jeanie will be teaching Life Skills for grades 7-12. Welcome, Jeanie!

Our friend Jack approves of the new turf! The varsity football team will begin their 2024 campaign with an away game this Friday at Blackford, but we're super excited for the regular season home debut on the new field when the Patriots host the New Castle Trojans on Friday, August 30. While you're making your plans, we’d love for you to add Homecoming 2024 on Friday, September 27, to your calendar as well! Go, Patriots! Woof!

Last Thursday, Jay County Jr.-Sr. High ushered in a new school year! We celebrated the summer accomplishments of our band and cheerleaders and turned our mindsets toward a productive new school year. Students were treated to music from our very own JC Patriot band, the student council led everyone in the recitation of the pledge, and administrators handed out awesome prizes to some lucky students. It has been one week, and we are getting right back into the swing of things. We are looking forward to a great year at JC Jr.-Sr. High!

This morning, Jay County Jr-Sr High School held its 11th-annual Enlistee Breakfast for students entering the armed services after graduation this year.
Pictured in the center is Desirae Bonifield (Indiana National Guard) surrounded by her fellow JROTC cadets, instructors, and local veterans. The breakfast was served by the cadets, and the veterans shared about the service organizations that support troops once their service to our country is complete. Not pictured is Elizabeth Wendel (Indiana National Guard), who has already completed her basic training, and Mark Woodall (US Marine Corps), who graduated early and is currently completing basic training. Jay County Jr-Sr High School would like to thank these senior students for their commitment to serve our country as well as the veterans who have already made those sacrifices for us. We wish you the best of luck as you continue to pursue your goals and passions! Be safe!

Prior to state testing this spring, 8th-grade students took a well-earned break from their preparation to enjoy a snack and a good book. Enjoy the photos from Mrs. Price!

Recently, Mrs. Dillon's and Mrs. Kahlig's junior high advanced math classes collaborated to complete a scavenger hunt on transformations to wrap up their last textbook chapter. Great job, kids!

While the BPA (Business Professionals of America) club had a very successful year running their cafe and competing, they weren't so successful when they recently visited Escape Muncie. They were close to escaping--only one clue away--but ultimately, their efforts failed. All is well, though, because they had a great time having fun and spending time together!

Join us in wishing our amazing nurses a wonderful day!

Please join us in wishing all of Jay School Corporation's teachers a Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

More prom photos to enjoy!

It's Early College Week in Indiana! Enjoy these photos of several of our EC freshmen displaying why they love Early College.

Students in Mr. Keller's dual-credit Calculus class recently completed an activity requiring them to determine the volume of a hard-boiled egg by using displacement and calculus techniques from class. They also used graphing calculator technology to help represent the data. Great job, Mr. Keller and students!

Prior to Spring Break, several of our Spanish and foreign exchange students traveled to Ohio to view the Hispanic Flamenco Ballet. They were able to observe a variety of Spanish dances and hear different types of Spanish music. There was even an opportunity for students to go on stage and learn some moves! After the program, the group enjoyed a Mexican lunch.
