Expect delays when entering and exiting JC Jr-Sr HS this afternoon. Road construction on HW 67 is expected to impact our dismissal. PM Buses may get delayed beyond the normal 1st day of school delay.

Jay County Jr-Sr High School Parents and Students: As tomorrow draws near, there are a few things that we would like to remind you about. Daily Schedule: Our school day begins at 8:15 and ends at 3:28 pm. Notice that we will be starting 5 minutes earlier this year, than we did last year. Transportation (AM): Students that are drivers should park in the North Lot. Doors #8 and #9 will be unlocked at 8 am. Students that are dropped off will need to be dropped off on the South Side of the building. Doors #25 (HS), #28 (JH) and #29 (JH) will be unlocked at 7:45 for students that are dropped off to enter the building. Bussers will enter the building beginning at 8:05. Busses will park on the East side of the building. High School students that arrive before the 8:05 bell will congregate in the Commons and Junior High students will congregate in the IMC area (this is the same process as last year). Transportation (PM): School dismisses at 3:28. Bussers will board the busses on the East Side of the building. Students that are getting picked up will be picked up outside of Doors #25, #28 and #29 on the South side of the building. Drivers will exit the parking lot on the North side of the building. There will be a two lane, 1 lane exiting out the north access lane and then the other lane exiting onto HWY 67. NO students should be picked up on the East side of the building, this is reserved for bussing. Transportation in Skyward: The Bus Tab is now open in the Parent Portal of Skyward to be able to view what bus your student will ride in the AM and PM. It is time to register for the 2021-2022 school year. To complete online registration, please click the link below. On September 1st, an Adolescent School Immunization Clinic will take place at Jay County Jr-Sr High School. Below is a link to view/print the "Adolescent School Immunization Clinic Parental Consent Form." If your student will need to attend this clinic, please fill out the form below before September 1st and send to the clinic with your student. Incoming 7th Grade Parents and Students: On Monday August 2nd and Wednesday August 4th during In-Person Registration hours, incoming 7th Graders can have access to the JH Area of the Jay County Jr-Sr High School. We want to give incoming 7th Graders this opportunity to find their scheduled classrooms and become more acquainted with the JH. ONLY the JH area will be open. Related Arts courses (Art, Choir, Gym, etc) will not be accessible to view due to waxing and painting still going on in the HS areas of the building. If lockers have been assigned before then, students will be able to practice their locker combinations. Staff and a few 8th Grade Student Council Officers will be available during these registration hours to answer questions. Jay County Jr-Sr High School Parents and Students: In person registration will take place on Monday August 2nd and Wednesday August 4th. On August 2nd hours of in person registration will take place from 8:30am-11 am and then again from 1:00pm-6pm. On August 4th, we will be here from 11:00am-7:00pm. Dear Jay County JH Students and Parents On Friday June 11th, we have activities planned for our 7th and 8th Graders for some "Last Day of School" fun. We intend to allow our JH students to participate in some activities such as games in the Aux. Gym, a school wide cook out for lunch, a movie in the Auditorium and swimming in the pool. Please ensure that your student wears comfortable/cool clothes and brings a few bottles of water, as it is supposed to be warm. Also, send your student with a bathing suit if they want to swim. Life guards will be present. We look forward to having some fun with the kids this Friday! **No cell phones will be permitted in the Pool Area. Students will be asked to keep their phones in their lockers during their designated swimming time. Thanks

Jay County Jr-Sr High School 7th and 8th Grade Students and Parents, Today during 7th period, your student should have received their Math and Language Arts ILEARN scores. They should have also received a sheet of paper explaining how to read the scores. Our students worked hard on these tests. Please be sure to spend some time this weekend going over the scores with your students. Thank you !

We are all aware of how difficult it has been recently for local employers to fill vacancies. Jay County High School is stepping up to help. Over a dozen local employers met with students of our manufacturing program yesterday for a hiring fair. Our seniors are getting offers NOW to fill needed positions. Jay County JH Virtual Students and Parents: JH Spring Dance Tickets will be sold for Virtual Students ONLY on Tuesday May 18th and Wednesday May 19th. Tickets will be sold in the Front Office by our 8th Grade Honor Society Sponsors (Mrs. Chrisman and Mrs. Allred) from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Tickets will be $5. Please enter the Front Office between Doors #1 and Doors #2 under the blue awning. Tickets will not be sold at the door on the day of the dance so please be sure to purchase your tickets at the above time and dates if you want your virtual student to attend the dance on the 22nd of May.. Reminder: If you are NOT a virtual student you will purchase your tickets during the JH lunch mod on Monday May 17th through Friday May 21st.

7th and 8th Grade Parents and Students: A lot of students have asked about the sale of Spring Dance tickets. Spring Dance tickets will be sold the week of the dance, Monday May 17th through Friday May 21st. The tickets will be sold during the JH lunch mod. Tickets will be $5.00 and will not be sold at the door. Thank you and again the Dance date has been changed to Saturday May 22nd.
